As the RV-12 project moves closer to the ground-running phase, it's time to take a closer look at the Rotax 912 ULS engine installation and do some preventive clean up. Work continues on the lower engine cowling, the canopy frame, plus the team gets creative in fixing an unexpected snag with the fuel tank plumbing. So what's been happening with the RV-15? In the last month, after getting its new wing fitted and flight tested, the engineering team has been hard at work, um, undoing a lot of their earlier work! In fact, the whole tail assembly - surfaces and the tail cone itself - had been modified several times to test different configurations.

Pop Riveting in Tight Places - VansAircraftBuilders.com
The majority of riveting on the RV-12iS is done with the LP4-3 Pop Rivet. Most go in very easily, but some require a great trick from Van's, an angled wedge that allows the installation of a Pop Rivet in situations where the pop rivet gun barrel is too large to use perpendicular to a surface.
