A very cool place to fly! This is a giant old abandoned Air Force base located in a nice small and quiet resort community. You land on an enormous runway in what looks like a ghost-Air Force base, and taxi past half a dozen 747's. Some still flying, but most part of a 747 graveyard. The FBO is very accommodating, and Ray is a gift to the aviation community. The town is very close and there are beaches, boat rentals, the Ausable river, and a brewpub Wiltse's a mile or so from the airport take a growler home. Scenic flight out over the forest with the beautiful serpentine river and beaches. - Submitted by crancont
