Light Sport Aircraft Step-Downs: Van's RV-12iS Flight Trial - Subscribe to AVweb
In an insurance market that's pushing older pilots out of complex airplanes, a worthy alternative to hanging up the wings for good could be stepping down into the world of Light Sport Aircraft. One aircraft that's been a big success among others is the Van's RV-12iS. Sebring Aviation in Florida specializes in LSA transition training and has an RV-12iS on its flight line. Aviation Consumer magazine Editor in Chief Larry Anglisano spent some time with Sebring's chief pilot Jason Wilkinson and completed transition training for the airplane and learned some useful tips for others considering the same.

Airplane Hangar Foam Insulation Application and Paint - Plus Apartment Redo! - Subscribe to VansAircraftBuilders.com
I had foam insulation installed in my hangar. This foam conforms to the shape of the hangar interior walls as it dries, and almost looks like regular texture you would see in a home with sheetrock walls. It dries within minutes and is paintable in the same day. It also seals the entire hangar, preventing bugs from getting in. @Vansaircraftbuilders #Vansaircraft

Worth the Squeeze? - Subscribe to Savvy Aviation
The FAA imposes a lot more burdens on owners of certificated aircraft than they do on owners of experimental amateur-built (E-AB) aircraft. Certificated aircraft require an IA to inspect and bless them every 12 months, may only use FAA-approved parts, and any major alteration requires FAA-approved data (usually an STC) and IA blessing. Is the safety benefit of certificated aircraft worth the additional regulatory burden?

We as Aircraft Builders, need to take time and get out and fly, just as reminder of how great it will be one day to fly an Airplane that we built ourselves. Today we flew into Cedar Mills Airport (3T0) in Gordonville, Texas . A beautiful and well-kept grass strip worth checking out. Just a short walk to the Pelican's Landing Waterfront Restaurant.
