Angelina County Lufkin Airport Cafe - Burke, TX

Airport Cafe is right on the airfield in the main terminal / FBO. Great burgers. Last time I was there, burger, fries and drink was $6. In 2019, airport was named the Most Improved Airport in Texas. Apache Pass - Rockdale, TX

Apache Pass is in Downtown Texas, www.DowntownTexas.com, is a new unincorporated community here in the population middle of Texas. There is a restaurant under construction by the airpark and two new RV parks one on the river. The Apache Pass River Theatre and pavilion is on the banks of the San Gabriel River and it has the longest Indiana Jones type skybridge in the continental United States which is a few hundred yards of the airpark and restaurant. The area is rich in history and you can view the history link on their website www.apachepass.com. The restaurant is decorated with an American Indian motiff showcasing artifacts found here in the Spanish Mission area. It also has a tee pee inside for the smaller folks to dine. It is also on the newly designated El Camino Real de los Tejas which is a National Historic Trail. Big Bend Ranch State Park - Lajitas, TX

State Park with Bunkhouse and house available for rent. Would be a great place to spend a couple days in the wild and remote Big Bend country of Texas where the stars seem to light up the night sky. Miles of hiking and bike trails and guided horseback tours are available as well but confirm in advance. Check State Park website for details and upcoming events such as cattle drives. 5500' paved runway in good condition with no fuel. Note this place is over 20 miles from the nearest town or paved road. Very picturesque - likely best in Spring, Winter or Fall - hot in summer. - Submitted by C. Baker

Boerne Stage Field Airport - Boerne, TX

Boerne Stage Airfield is located on Scenic Loop Road northwest of San Antonio. The orignial Rudy's BBQ is a few minutes away, and the Scenic Loop Cafe and historic downtown Boerne are always worth the flight. Golf at Tapatia Springs Resort is a beautiful challenge. Brenham Municipal Airport - Brenham, TX

Great airport. Newly resurfaced runway & ramp. Friendly FBO. The courtesy car is really cool. The town of Brenham is 15 minutes away--go on the tour of the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. Cafe Eccell - Grill and Fresh Seafood Bistro - College Station, TX

8-04-2006 Flew into College Station, Easterwood Airport, on a Thursday evening and had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Eccell. The food is top notch and so are the deserts...mmmm. Cavanaugh Flight Museum - Addison, TX

Important Museum Update: After thirty-one years at its Addison location, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum is closing for moving.
