Beacon Drive-in - Spartanburg, SC

Don't fly to Spartanburg without visiting The Beacon. Often imitated but never copied, The Beacon has been a Spartanburg institution since 1946. Heaps of food come with every order! Only five minutes from Spartanburg's Downtown Memorial Airport! - Submitted by roads-scholar

Bush N Vine - York, SC

Great grass strip with vegetable / fruit stand at the north end. Park on the north end of the runway and walk to the stand for a fresh strawberry or peach slushy. Plus it's a great place to get strawberries, blackberries, peaches and veggies in season. Traffic uses 122.9 - Submitted by Dennis Scearce

Flying Fish Public Market and Grill - Myrtle Beach, SC

Beach Aviation FBO were kind enough to give me a crew car, so I went two miles east of the airport to the Flying Fish Public Market at Barefoot Landing. It has a deck overlooking the channel with nice views. I recommend the fish and chips. - Submitted by Peter

Grand Strand Airport - North Myrtle Beach, SC

This airport is nicely situated just north of Myrtle Beach. This allows for easy access to the area. Located within just a few miles of the airport is golfing, dining, lodging, and other activities. - Submitted by Adam Ruemenapp

Greenville, South Carolina - Greenville, SC

If you don't mind walking, start near Main St, and stroll up and down the street, it's beautiful, clean, thriving with people of all ages, some local and some from other countries. Greenville has several companies that pull talent from overseas. Main Street will also take you to the beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy River. Over the river is a unique curved pedestrian suspension bridge. Spend the afternoon walking through the park, shopping and dining downtown. - Submitted by Lara Kaufmann

Hunter-Gatherer Brewery - Columbia, SC

The Hunter-Gatherer Brewery/Taproom at Columbia's Jim Hamilton - L.B. Owens airport is located in an old Curtis-Wright aircraft hangar. After landing, we made the mistake of trying to taxi to the hangar, then parked as close as we could and started walking. Both attempts failed because the hangar is outside the airport security fence and there are no unlocked gates. After ending up at the FBO, the folks there were kind enough to offer one of their modern crew vans for us to drive the half-mile to the restaurant. My wife and I shared an excellent fresh-baked pizza, and she tried one of the four available beers while I had a Diet Coke. We were told that the brew master was on vacation, so the beer choices were more limited than usual. Besides seven pizza options, the menu also includes salads and a half-dozen snack items like soft pretzels and various chip/dip combinations. We're definitely going back! Kiawah Island Resort - Kiawah Island, SC

Kiawah Island is ten miles of wide, immaculate, ocean beach on which one - or two - might walk or cycle for hours and hours without interruption. Soothing by day, utterly romantic by night, the beach is complemented by the island’s river, meandering lagoons, and pristine marshlands, and closes each sun washed day safe beneath its own star studded southern sky. Kiawah Island Golf Resort is a resort unlike any other. Our guests enjoy world-class recreational facilities and choose from the widest ion of sizes and locations of rental villas and private homes on the island, all of which are held to the highest standards. If you are not renting directly through Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the official owner and operator of all Resort amenities on the island, you are not getting the best vacation experience at Kiawah, or the best value. - Submitted by Jim Rhodes

Lancaster County Airport - Lancaster, SC

A lovely FBO just south of Charlotte, NC that is small enough to give personal service and still cope with corporate jets and other large aircraft. The staff are very nice and will do everything they can to make your stay a plesant one. There are no tie down fees and self serve 100LL and Jet 24/7 which is really useful. I would recommend this FBO as a place to visit to just watch the planes, meet the people, borrow the courtsey car and get something to eat and just chill out! - Submitted by charlies_angel1984

Runway Cafe - Greenville, SC

On field restaurant. Open for lunch and dinner Mon. - Sat., just lunch on Sunday. Great food, view and prices. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plane tie ups right by building. Near fuel. - Submitted by Lara Kaufmann

Skull Creek Boathouse - Hilton Head, SC

Hilton Head Island is a great place to fly into. Class D towered airport, very friendly. Plenty of room for parking on ramp, call ahead to arrange a rental car, or taxi. Skull creek boathouse is about 2 miles down the road. Super awesome restaurant right on water, great prices, and lots to choose from. There are usually bands playing in the evening and a large dock to walk out on to check out the dolphins. There are tons to do on the island , plenty of golf courses, and if you get a chance, swing down to Harbor Town and take a water taxi over to Daufuskie Island! You won't regret it!! - Submitted by Chris

Stanton's Barbeque and Seafood - Bennettsville, SC

Stanton's BBQ in Bennettsville, SC is a 2300-foot grass runway with a tie down ramp right beside the restaurant that leads you to some of the best southern food you'll ever taste! Highly recommended! Here's a video of my most recent $100 Hamburger trip to Stanton's: https://youtu.be/6kof1RlxfN0 - Submitted by Matt Moore

The Scoop at the Airport - Liberty, SC

The Scoop features a patio with an airport playground view. Grab a hot dog, panini, or bowl of soup, and watch Airplanes. Bread baked from scratch daily. Indulge in Hershey's Premium Ice Cream, Milkshakes, Sundaes, and more. Thanks to the airport's launch of the north ramp, planes are now able to drive up and park next to The Scoop's patio.
