AQ Chicken House - Springdale, AR

The best fried chicken in the state! Choice of Pan Fried, Over-the-Coals my favorite, or BBQ. They also serve some of the best ribs, catfish, and chicken fried steak around. Never had anything on their menu that wasn't great. Portions should satisfy anyone's hunger. I always leave with a to-go box. AQ Chicken is located only about 2.5 miles from KASG Springdale Municipal, so if you can't get the shuttle, there's always a taxi. Go to the AQ Chicken House website and check out their menu. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed. - Submitted by David Monroe

Arkansas Air Museum - Fayetteville, AR

The historic aircraft in the Arkansas Air Museum are unusual among museum exhibits because most of them still fly. There are few 'stuffed birds' in this collection. From world-famous racing planes of the 1920s and 1930s to an early airliner, the planes are maintained in flying condition. Located at Drake Field in Fayetteville, Ark - Submitted by rox18729

Byrd's Camp Ground - Fort Smith, AR

Byrd's is a private but open to the public 1900' grass strip with a second 1,000' grass strip on the Mulberry river north of Ozark, Arkansas with a fantastic restaurant, camping, kayaking, off road trails and a spring and fall fly-in. Located in a valley between some beautiful mountains, just look out for bears on the runway. - Submitted by Jerry Orsbun

City of Mountain View - Mountain View, AR

This place has many attractions for an attractive getaway. Free live music with many groups pickin' bluegrass and folk music on the town square every evening, Blanchard Springs Caverns, a national forest, and so much more! Also - great ice cream sodas at the drug store. A trip to a real country town. Only thing missing is Floyd the barber! - Submitted by lesnyd

Gaston's White River Resort - Lakeview, AR

If there's only one fly-away destination you make this year, Gaston's has got to be it. This is a great riverside resort. The main draw is trout fishing, but the setting, accomodations, and dining also make it a great place to visit. They have their own 3200' turf strip, and sell 100LL. You've just got to experience Gaston's! Plan a stop-over for lunch or dinner, or spend the night and fish. Check the website for more information and pictures. See you at Gaston's! - Submitted by mswindell

Grider Field Restaurant - Pine Bluff, AR

Nice little airfield with a pretty active EAA chapter. I was told they have fly-in breakfasts every third Saturday of the month. Otherwise, there is a nice little restaurant in the small airport terminal called Grider Field Restaurant. It is a cafeteria type affair, serving an assortment of good ol' fashion Southern cookin'. Today we had a choice of fried chicken, chicken n' dumplins, or breaded pork chops, with an assortment of veggies. The place is not fancy, but the food is good and the price is right. This is a great place for a lunch run if you are in the Mid-South. - Submitted by Squelch
